What's in a name?

Sometimes, a name doesn’t emerge from months of deliberation but from a single moment when everything falls into place. That’s how it went with Accompanied. In 2015, during a brainstorming session with a small team, we were searching for a name that reflected our vision: a network organization that brings people, companies, and ideas together to enable sustainable economic growth. Not a traditional office, but a place where you collaborate on something bigger.

One of us said: “You're always accompanied as you journey toward success. You never walk that road alone.” Those words stuck. Accompanied. Accompanied by others. Being accompanied. Not standing alone, but strengthening one another. The idea that no one can accomplish a major project alone—that it’s the collaboration that leads to success. The name felt right immediately.

In 2025, Accompanied will celebrate its tenth anniversary, and that name still carries our promise: we work together, with and for each other, to make the world a little better. Whether it’s supporting businesses in the Netherlands, fostering green innovation in Brazil, or creating new opportunities in Portugal. Accompanied by vision, by partnership, by a shared goal.

Because no matter who you are or where you work, no one can brighten up tomorrow alone.
